2FM Rising reveals its 10 acts for 2021

RTÉ 2FM has revealed the 10 acts chosen by a panel of experts for its 2FM Rising list for 2021, with For Those I Love, Shiv, The Clockworks, Shane Codd, Lea Heart, Monjola, Robert Grace, Bobbi Arlo, Gemma Dunleavy and Plantain Papi all set to be championed in the next 12 months.

The announcement was made on The Tracy Clifford Show on 2FM as part of Rising Week from 18 to 24 January.

During the year, the 10 acts will be promoted extensively on 2FM, with their new music showcased and interviews aired on the station. Each act will also receive a €1,000 bursary from the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO).

Among the artists to previously feature on 2FM Rising lists are: Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines D.C., Wyvern Lingo and Lyra.

Rising is a key initiative from 2FM and RTÉ, as the support of Irish music and Irish artists is an important part of what we do and what we represent,” said 2FM Director of Music Adam Fogarty.

“We’re extremely excited about our 10 acts this year, and we feel the list is a fantastic example of how strong and diverse Irish music is right now.”

IMRO Chief Executive Victor Finn added: “It has been an incredibly challenging time for the music and wider artistic community, and the 2FM Rising initiative will provide an invaluable promotional and support platform for all of the participating acts throughout 2021.”
