‘Better late than never’, it is good to hear that ‘Behind closed doors’ talks are in progress with unnamed locals and Coillte with a view to restoring ‘The Second Gate’ into lough Key Forest Park, and the future for this historic, iconic, beautiful structure. In the past. our own John Mulligan and myself were instrumental in drawing attention to the demise of the gatehouse and having basic ‘make-safe’ repairs carried out on the building. Whatever, if progress is to continue, it will be good for the area
