2040 – Nice bones but no meat!

The current 2040 plan is almost a carbon copy of an earlier ‘plan’. Way back, when Boyle Chamber of Commerce was a vital cog in the success and everyday happenings of this town we love so well, a group of architectural students was commissioned to produce a plan for the future Boyle. Their drawings and beautifully constructed 3D model now lie gathering dust somewhere in King House.
The current 2040 plan is equally attractive but yesterday’s launch in King House did not give answers to the many questions that would have been asked if a Q&A session had been offered.:
• Will RosCoCo clean the hideous front of the Royal Hotel?
• When will the ‘Shambles at the Shambles’ be completed?
• Why will work on 2040 not start until 2019?
• Why is legitimate criticism being used as a diversionary trick in argument and defined as ‘negativity’?
