Weather warnings – heavy rain and freezing temperatures forecast

A cold weather warning, which comes into effect at 9pm, will remain in place for 24 hours for the entire country, with temperatures falling to -3C or -4C in many areas.
Farm animals are being kept indoors longer than normal, with already depleted fodder supplies being put under added pressure. The Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed has confirmed that his officials are now actively developing a scheme to support the importation of fodder in response to the serious fodder crisis caused by the long and cold winter.
