Upgrade plans for N4 – Carrick bypass
There is some disagreement in Carrick-on-Shannon Chamber of Commerce about how an upgrade of the N4 should proceed.
Some members fully support a full bypass of the Leitrim town, which could materialise if the Dublin-Sligo road is upgraded between Mullingar and Sligo. However, others are not in favour of it being completely bypassed, preferring a ring-road similar to the one around Longford town.
