Disturbing news Friday 12th June
At the Bailey Bridge a male adult threw a white plastic bag containing three recently-born female black puppies into the river.
• Marian Leahy (Egan) witnessed the man’s action and with the help of her sister managed to fish the bag from the river.
• Two public-spirited Boyle teenage boys carefully wrapped up the remains and took them away for burial.
• Boyle Gardai have been alerted and have been supplied with a photo of the man’s red Ford car
