Some of us will remember the famous Philip Donnelly incident that evoked the Roscommon Herald headline “Nashville Musician Blamed for Late Hours”. In a nutshell here it is for you … On an Easter Sunday night long ago, I met world-renowned Nashville musician Philip Donnelly with Chris Meehan (of Rednecks fame) in L.Key Forest Park and persuaded them to play in the Ceili House Bar. Brendan O’Dowd provided instruments & amplification. The music was brilliant – full house – and ran late. A conscientious member of the Gardai raided the premises, took names for the court case that followed, and thus the headline was born!
Anyway, super musician Philip Donnelly will play in Daly’s on Saturday night, an event you really should attend … free admission … see you there!
