Saturday 6th May: Emotional and heart warming – a magnificent response to the Pieta House event had over 700 (yes, seven hundred) registered participants assemble first in St. Joseph’s Hall and then start DIL 2017 from in front of Boyle Courthouse to the strains of a wonderful Lizi Hannon Choir, and spoken introductions by National Chairperson Sean O’Connor and Melissa Beirne, leader of the excellent local team of event organisers. Teas/coffee and loads of food goodies were laid on for participants after the event as we wished Happy Birthday on this special day to Melissa before heading into the light of another Day of Hope for all and especially those troubled with thoughts of suicide.
