Arigna Mining Experience

Recently I had the pleasure of taking the excellent Arigna Mining Experience tour with Jennifer – one of my daughters, and can confirm that if you are looking for a day out with a difference, Arigna will appeal to you. Former miner Michael Flynn brought us through a section of the former coal mine and explained to our tour group how the mines operated and showed us the almost impossible, scary conditions in which the miners worked. HSE would have had a field day! Nevertheless, the miners, their families and the Arigna area prospered while surrounding areas had none of Arigna’s wealth.
