In February 1992, over 300 people from towns along the Sligo-Dublin line boarded a train to Dublin to ‘Save the Railway’. At that time the Sligo-Dublin line was in poor condition and locals along the route feared this would lead to ultimate closure.
Familiar faces were protestors on the day as photographed above: Eithne Sheridan (Deane). Seamus Cooney, Seamus Monaghan (Sligo Chamber of Commerce) and Fergus Ahern R.I.P.
