A new blood test has been developed to detect eight common cancers in their very early stages. Scientists behind the CancerSEEK test say it has shown a success rate of 70%. Five of the cancers covered by the test currently have no screening test.
The test was evaluated on 1,005 patients. CancerSEEK, can identify eight common cancers ― ovary, liver, esophagus, pancreas, stomach, colorectal, lung, and breast cancer ― say researchers from the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
