“Council dismisses speculation over former Royal Hotel”
Darragh Kelly is a fine, experienced reporter and highly regarded acquaintance of mine. On page 2 of this week’s Roscommon Herald, Darragh’s headline and subsequent article is, I feel, and with respect, one-sided since he reports a Council response to an article I wrote, but he DID NOT ask me to verify anything.
• I can now repeat, without fear of contradiction by Ros Co Co “A realboyle.com news item suggests that an interested group of investors, some local, is to make, or has made a bid to purchase the derelict town centre Royal Hotel, now owned by Roscommon Co Council.”
• Perhaps in Ros Co Co, ‘the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing’. Here are the facts: Prominent, well-placed individuals, a businessman, a TD and a Ros Director of Services met to discuss the Royal Hotel. During the meeting a suggestion came forward that buying the Royal property might be achieved with the inclusion of named State Bodies.
• ’nuff said !!!
