Canon Peadar Lavin R.I.P.
“We are sorry to announce the death of Canon Peadar Lavin who died this morning. Ó Láimhín , An tAthair Peadar, (Canon Peadar Lavin), Sleevinagee, Roscommon Town, former Parish Priest of Knockcroghery Parish, and formally of Ballyfarnon, died on 17th April 2020, peacefully in the tender care of the staff of the Sacred Heart Hospital Roscommon.
Predeceased by his parents, Peter & Delia and his brother Andy and sister in law Joan. Deeply mourned by his nieces, Angela (Keegan), Siobhan (Mc Kenna), Eimear (Costello) and nephew Aindreas, their spouses Pascal, Kevin, Eddie and Caitríona, grandnephews and niece, his cousins, relatives and a wide circle of friends and by former students and parishioners. His friendship and support and death is mourned by Bishop Kevin Doran and his brother priests in the Diocese of Elphin
To follow best practice and guidelines due to Covid-19 and with the support of his family the funeral will take place privately. His remains will be interred in Kilmactranny cemetery.
