Boyle Arts Festival 2019
“Portal” – a superb one-hour concert in the Church of Ireland on Saturday 20th July explored the myth and memory surrounding Cruachán, Rathcroghan, Co. Roscommon.
New work was composed by pianist Siobhan Creary, songs and tunes by Cathy Jordan and John Carty along with older traditional tunes associated with the area and an evocative specially written text and spoken in velvet tones by Vincent Woods. The audience delighted with the brilliant bodhrán and sean nós “bullfight” dance by Ryan Owens and Ryan Sheridan, and supporting musicians Eimear McGeown, James Carty and Gerald Peregrine
