Shannonside News: The funeral of the former Bishop of Elphin Christy Jones has heard he was a man who favoured the weak over the strong. Hundreds of people attended his funeral mass this afternoon at Sligo Cathedral, after the 82-year-old passed away last Friday night following a long illness. At his funeral mass, the Bishop was remembered as a man who loved to see the underdog triumph, and who had dedicated much of his life to helping those less well off.
