Abbey Community College and St Joseph’s Boys National School to benefit from investment under 2020 Summer Works Scheme – Feighan
Fine Gael Senator Frank Feighan has welcomed confirmation that Abbey Community College and St Joseph’s Boys National School will benefit under the Department of Education’s 2020 Summer Works Scheme. “Under next year’s scheme, Abbey Community College will further invest in Life Safety Systems which includes Fire Alarm, Fire Detection and Emergency Lighting while St Joseph’s primary school will carry out external environment works.
“This investment for the two local schools is part of a €30m fund nationally for next year’s Summer Works Scheme, which has been announced by the Minister for Education, Joe McHugh. “The announcement is part of this Government’s continued commitment to improve facilities in schools across this region. These works will be carried out in the schools over the summer months when pupils are on holiday, so the disruption to schooling will be kept to a minimum.
“I want to pay tribute to both schools for working so hard to help secure this funding. These projects will also help stimulate economic activity by supporting construction jobs in the local economy.” Contact: Senator Feighan, 086 833 1234.
