St. Joseph’s Church Choir performs at 11.30am mass on the fourth Sunday every month. Hopefully our wonderful choir attracts a larger congregation, though that may not be its brief. This morning’s performance interested me from a number of points of view.
• As always, Anne Kielty’s electronic piano accompaniment was of professional quality. My ageing ears detected a pleasing polyphonic bass line in places
• Lizi Hannon’s rendering of “Be not Afraid” was angelic and most appealing
• I might offer ‘hurler on the ditch’ criticism, but it would merely be nit-picking, and not worthy of our superb St. Joseph’s Church Choir.
