Tuesday 20th September: The Grange Text Alert Area initiative was launched in Boyle Golf Club at 8pm.
“Text Alert” is a Community Crime Prevention Programme. An Garda Síochána provide information by text or e-mail to each registered “Community Contact” and they, in turn forward the information by text or e-mail to all members of their Community Group.
• On behalf of the great Grange community and the organising committee, Vincent Egan welcomed the full house attendence and acted as linking MC for Sergeant Paul McDermott and Garda Michael Pilkington who gave security advice and answered queries. Bernard Kearney, Muintir na Tire spoke on the organisation’s role in the Text Alert programme
• Refreshments were served afterwards as the night became a happy community social event.
