Taoiseach defends decision to meet Trump

Enda Kenny has dismissed calls for him to reject an invitation to meet Donald Trump in the White House as “populist”. Transport Minister Shane Ross is among those who have told the Taoiseach to travel, but Mr Kenny’s plan to personally complain about America’s new immigration policies, is supported by Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin. In a response to Mr Trump’s travel ban, Ireland Inc is now actively targeting business, investment and recruitment from the Middle East.
