Major Boost for Arigna with €500,000 for Energy Inclusive Discovery Park and Miners Trail

Local TD and Minister of State Frank Feighan has today warmly welcomed the announcement from Minister Heather Humphreys TD that funding of €500,000 is allocated for the development of the Arigna Energy Inclusive Discovery Park to include a panoramic viewing platform, inclusive activity area and an energy and biodiversity trail.
The announcement was made under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) which will benefit some 84 projects across Ireland.

Arigna Energy Inclusive Discovery Park and Miners Trail received the funding under measure 3 of the programme.

“This is fantastic news for Arigna and North Roscommon in particular, this project will compliment the success of the Mining Experience and will build the visitor experience for tourism for visitors to the region including South Leitrim where Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumshanbo have some rally interesting attractions to visit including ‘The Shed Distillery Visitor Experience’ to name but one”

“I wish to congratulate the project promoters and Roscommon Co Council for their successful application, and can I thank in particular Minister Humphreys who’s department allocated €879,830 to Roscommon under the latest ORIS funding stream” concluded Minister Feighan.
