On behalf of my sister Nancy Murphy and the Murphy family and myself, I would like to thank everyone who sympathised, sent Mass cards and telephone messages at the time of my brother-in law Micheal's death. To the clergy at St Josephs Church and Padraig Harrington for the announcements, to Sean O'Dowd at Realboyle for the publication, and to the people who travelled to Newcastlewest Co.Limerick for the removal and burial. Thank you all sincerely, A Mass will be offered for you all.

Greetings Sean. Before I left Boyle I met John Murray of Murray's finest bespoke kitchens fame; he told me his nephew Alan was off to Toronto. Well John, he got here safely and we met him yesterday! We intend to spend today; Labour Day in Canada at the big Air Show at the Harbour. So John, that text message you got at around midnight last night was from Laurabe. We forgot about the time differance!
Alan says his family look up realboyle every day.

while at the checkout in a local supermarket i noticed one of the checkout girls returning from lunch, she went into the newsagents and left back a magazine on the shelf, i was shocked and wondered was this common, i often buy mags there and put the tatty corners down to damage in transit. why should we pay full price for secondhand magazines.

I was sorry to hear if the demise of the Roscommon Champion today. Although it was mostly read in the south of the county, given that the Herald holds sway in this area, it's still sad when a long established newspaper goes under. We need to support our local media, it's too late to mourn them when they're gone.

We just had to give a BIG thank you and congratulations to the Boyle Summer Show committee for a great effort yesterday. It was a lovely family day with something for everyone. It appeared that all who attended enjoyed themselves. Can't help but say that the number of entries in the produce and home baking seemed down on last year, which is a shame. We certainly hope that it's not a sign and that it's already losing interest!
People can't complain that there is nothing to do in Boyle if they are not willing to take part in the activities that are on their front doorstep!
Thanks again and roll on Summer Show 2011!!
